Proper installation and repair of a flat roof requires experience, expertise, and precision. American Cowboy Roofing provides complete roofing services for all of Northern Virginia communities specializing in flat roof installation and repairs. Flat roof construction allows potential water collection on its surface. Flat roofs are typically not completely flat. To all appearances it is flat but normally has a slight slope allowing water or snow to escape preventing standing water on the roof. A slight incline allows water to run off the roof to the gutter and downspout system. Flat roof construction is found throughout the neighborhoods of Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Tyson’s Corner and Reston. With flat and low slope roofs it is more difficult to find leaks than a pitch roof. When searching for a professional flat roof installer you deserve a roofing professional that has the experience and knowledge needed to help with your flat roof needs. With 43 years experience as low slope roof specialists we are proud our expertise provides our clients with dependable watertight low slope roofs.

BUR & Modified Bitumen Roofing:

BUR (Built-Up Roofing): We offer traditional multi-ply BUR roof systems. As one of the oldest low-slope roof systems, it’s still applied to commercial roofs today. These roof systems are sometimes referred to as “tar and gravel roofs.” BUR systems generally are composed of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics that create a finished membrane. The Modified Bitumen: Combining the familiarity and dependability of traditional BUR with the addition of polymer modification. Modified systems are highly tear-resistant making them ideal for heavy traffic.

EPDM Rubber Roofing:

Over the past 20 years, roofing systems using ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EDPM) have established an impressive history of performance. This performance has allowed EPDM to steadily gain market share until it is now the most widely specified synthetic rubber roofing polymer. Gravel ballast is placed over EPDM and asphalt-based roofing to protect it from UV degradation and to provide wind up-lift resistance during high winds. When the EPDM roof needs replaced, a complicated and labor-intensive removal is required. American Cowboy Roofing removes both large ballast and small pea gravel with minimal dust and debris during the removal process. We work with the building owner or facility manager to ensure no disruptions to facility operations.

Thermoplastics – TPO:

TPO membranes are produced by calendaring with lamination, extrusion with lamination, or extrusion-coating techniques. TPO sheets are a blend of polypropylene and ethylene propylene polymers and usually are reinforced with polyester. TPO sheets contain colorant, flame retardants, UV absorbers and other proprietary substances to achieve desired physical properties.

Metal Solutions:

There are three general categories of metal roof systems used for steep-slope roofing applications: architectural metal panel, structural metal panel and metal shingle/shingle panels. Generally, architectural metal panel roof systems are water shedding and are intended for use on steep slope roofs. Structural metal panel roof systems are used on low and steep slope roofs. Structural metal panel roof systems can be used on low slope roofs because of their hydrostatic, or water barrier, characteristics. You can trust American Cowboy Roofing with all of your roofing needs. Integrity with the Power of Strength.
